So Much Art Amid the Horses. 


During Mexico City Art Week 2025, I was commissioned by The New York Times to photograph one of the most highly anticipated events of the week: Marina Abramovic's performance at Cuadra San Cristobal, an iconic property designed by famed Mexican architect Luis Barragan. 

Abramovic, a pioneer of performance art, read her manifesto surrounded by horses and annouced statements such as “art is oxygen.” She also offered an abbreviated workshop based on her Abramovic Method, where attendees practiced exercises of silence and concentration.
